Game 1- The Nads had a one-hitter and lost. Bautista walked to lead off
the 4th, stole second, and scored on Goldie’s two-out base knock. Kluber
and the pen wove a three-hit shutout to make the run stand up.
Game 2- Cutch opened the scoring with a solo shot in the bottom of the
first. Aybar squeezed in a run against a drawn in infield in the third
to tie it. Machado gave the home team the lead in the 6th with a sac
fly. The Zaps used two doubles and a single to score two in the 8th.
Ziegler nailed down the save and the Zaps won 4-1.
Game 3-Cutch made a 2-base error in the second to let a run score. Fier
got wild in the third and got yanked, but not before the good guys
plated four runs. The Zaps used a HBP, walk , and a base knock to plate
one in the 5th. Greinke went a strong seven and the pen finished off a
5-1 triumph.
Game 4-Tillman was wild giving up five walks and four runs before
getting yanked in the fifth. Kluber pitched a strong seven and Ziegler
nailed down a two-inning save to complete a 4-3 win.
Game 5- The Zaps completed the five-game sweep by knocking out Wilson
with five hits and three runs in the first inning. Goldie, Machado, and
Shaw went 6 for 11 with 5 RBI’s to power the offense, and Liriano only
allowed 1 earned run in 6 1/3 as the home team took the getaway game 6-2.
