ballyard and had 3 RBI as the TRISTAN VIVAZAPASTAS defeated the NORM TWEENERS
in 13 innings by a score of 8 to 4 at The Hoover Dome.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  TRISTAN came out on top
in the 13th inning.  The critical plate appearance was by McCutchen who
helped quiet the crowd when he smacked a three-run homer.  TRISTAN and NORM
each finished the afternoon with 9 hits.

The victory was credited to Scherzer(5-1) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. Andrew Chafin(3-5) was charged with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1
inning giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.

Scherzer didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up.  When told he
had 14 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a
decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many.  Say, that's pretty
good, isn't it?  Even though it did take me 13 effin’ innings.'

5/12 – Tweeners 8, Zaps 5.  Nelson Cruz jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI and Madison Bumgarner
delivered 6 solid innings at The Hoover Dome where the NORM TWEENERS beat the
TRISTAN VIVAZAPASTAS by the score of 8 to 5.

TRISTAN fell behind quickly as the NORM offense came through in the first
inning plating 2 runs utilizing 4 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Ben
Zobrist keyed the rally when he laced a base-hit.  George Springer got his
chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Cruz then lined a
single.  Chris Colabello followed next and he lined a one-base hit plating a
run.  Zack Cozart came up to bat and delivered a single, and an error was
also committed, scoring the final run of the inning.  NORM managed 11 hits in
their victory.

The victory went to Bumgarner(10-5) who went 6 innings, allowing 1 run.
Bumgarner got relief help from Andrew Chafin who gained credit for his 7th
save.  Cole Hamels(2-3) took the loss.  He was knocked around by NORM,
allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

8/3 – Zaps 3, Tweeners 1.  Max Scherzer dominated striking out 10 NORM batters and right fielder Jose
Bautista cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the TRISTAN VIVAZAPASTAS topped the
NORM TWEENERS by a score of 3 to 1 at The Hoover Dome.

Scherzer(6-1) put on a good performance.  He didn't allow much, just 6 hits
and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.54 to 2.33.  Neither team
managed to score after the 3rd inning.

Sonny Gray(9-8) suffered the loss. Scherzer, as usual, didn't realize how many strikeouts
he was racking up.  When told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No
kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd
that many.  Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'

8/4 – Zaps 5, Tweeners 3.  Russell Martin lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as the TRISTAN
VIVAZAPASTAS defeated the NORM TWEENERS by a score of 5 to 3 at The Hoover
Dome.

Cole Hamels(3-3) delivered a fine performance for TRISTAN.  He went 7 and 2/3
innings allowing 8 hits and no walks and was touched for 2 homeruns reducing
his ERA from 5.06 to 4.85.  Both teams ended up with 8 hits on the night.

Brad Ziegler preserved the game for Hamels, recording his his 2nd save. Shelby
Miller(5-6) was the loser.  He pitched 9 innings giving up 8 hits and 6
walks.

Wth the win TRISTAN now has a record of 12-7.  With this loss, NORM has a 4-6
record of late, 55-46 overall.

8/5 – Tweeners 6, Zaps 4.  In a close game it was the NORM TWEENERS 6, the TRISTAN VIVAZAPASTAS 4 at The
Hoover Dome.

NORM had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning as they scored 4
runs on 3 base hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Nelson Cruz
who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he clubbed a two-run home
run.  Both teams ended up with 7 hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Dalier Hinojosa(3-0) who went 1 inning allowing 1 run.
Hinojosa got relief help from Carson Smith who gained credit for his 13th
save.  Ken Giles(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief.

Zaps 3, Inmates 2

All games at the Baptist Bowl via CM.

Zaps 9 – Inmates 6: Joey Bats hit the first pitch of the game into the belfry of the neighboring Catholic Church, and things only got worse for the Inmates. Pineda allowed eight runs in the inning before zipping his trousers, leaving the Beakless Chicken Gang in an 8-0 hole before even getting to bat. The Inmates fought back, but shell-shocked is no way to begin a series. Kluber picked up the W, pitching six not particularly effective innings.

Inmates 4 – Zaps 3 (11 innings): Adam Jones hit a two-out solo homer in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra-innings, and then doubled home Rizzo with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th to cheat the visiting Pastas out of a victory.

Inmates 11 – Zaps 2: JD Martinez and Jason Castro both hit grand slams, Rizzo and Jones hit solo shots, and the Inmates blasted Greinke and the Zaps in a game where not much went wrong for the Inmates and not much went right for the Carb Crew.

Zaps 7 – Inmates 5: A see-saw match, with the Zaps jumping out to an early 4-0 lead against McHugh. The Inmates scratch back to take a 5-4 lead on a three-run HR by Ramos, only to have Machado hit a two-run tater in the 9th to ice the game for the bad guys.

Zaps 4 – Inmates 1: All runs scored on homers – McCutchen (2-run shot), Goldie and Rendon for the Zaps; Martinez for the Inmates.

The HEAD INMATE

Wahoos 2, Zaps 0

8-27-16
Arrieta vs. Liriano
First game with full rosters and the Wahoos act like it's the first game of spring training. An error and three hits lead to a two-run inning for the Zaps. Arrieta continues to struggle as he gave up three in the third thanks in part to his own error. Wahoos clawed back in the game in the eighth vs. Ziegler. Machado contributed to the festivities with a 2-base throwing error that led to a pair of runs. Down 6-5 entering the ninth the Wahoos got to Giles. Pham pinch hit with a leadoff triple. Mahtook singled him. Turner rolled into two. Then Seager went deep. Wahoos eek out a 7-6 victory to improve to 1-8 this season vs. the Zaps.

Now it's first and third with one out. Giles retires the next 2 batters. To the 12th...more zeroes. Bottom of the 13th with the bases empty and two outs. Casali hits a clean shot at 2-5. knocking in a run in the 8th inning.  TRISTAN had 13 hits overall, while
BRYAN had 9.

game as the TRISTAN VIVAZAPASTAS defeated the BRYAN DIAMONDVISION by a score
of 5 to 2 at DV Park by Viagra.
Greinke(4-0) had a strong outing.  He allowed just 7 hits and 1 walk in 9

9th.

Stephen Strasburg(8-10) ended up with the loss.  Although losing the contest,
he whiffed 8 batters in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Grichuk came to the plate and slapped a single scoring the final run of the
inning.  That was all Cashner needed.  BRYAN managed 7 hits in their victory.

pitcher.  While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 16 batters in
