Buckeyes 3, DVs 2

Buckeyes take 3 of 5 via Net Play at the DV's. No technical issues!

Oh, there were a few technical issues- mainly how every one of my starters (except Hendriks) got hacked while having their hard drive formatted by the Buckeye hitters.

To wit – DVs throw a combined shutout in game 1, then surrender 7, 10, 8 and 9 runs- with the last game being a 12-9 DV win where the official scorer declined to give Stephen Strasburg a “win” as his 5 inning, 8 run gag fest hardly qualified as anything resembling a win.

DVs 4, Inmates 0

DVs 4 – Inmates 0 (via netplay)

DVs 10 – Inmates 5 (Trump Towers): Both teams hit four homers, but all the Inmate taters were solo shots; all the DV taters had men on. DVs out-hit the Inmates 12-11, but the game was never close.

DVs 5 – LDMF 0 (Trump Towers): Pouting because of their lack of clutch hitting in the series opener, the LDMF put away their bats and sucked. Strasburg pitched seven shutout innings, while Stanton and MooseTacos both hit two-run homers.

DVs 12 – Inmates 6 (Baptist Bowl): For the third straight game the DVs jumped out to a lead in the 1st, but the Inmates managed to gain a 5-1 lead after four. Then all shit hit the fan. Both teams had thirteen hits; both teams had two homers. That’s where the similarity ended. Once again, both Inmate homers were solo shots (Altuve, Rosario), while both of Bogaerts’ taters had men on. The Inmates hit into four double-plays; the DVs none. Bradley came in to keep the deficit to one run, but got torched for five runs in 1/3 of an inning. Shitfuck.

DVs 10 – Inmates 5 (Baptist Bowl): Inciarte and Santana hit solo homers for the Inmates, while Stanton (slammer), Castillo and Owings tatered with men on. The Inmates outhit the DVs 13-10, but couldn’t score. Bradley came in once again to keep the game close and once again was torched, this time for four runs in 1/3 inning. For the series, Bradley allowed nine runs (eight earned) on six hits, two homers and two walks, in 2/3 inning. Stellar 108.00 ERA.

DVs 3, Drillers 2

Game 1 – Blackmon hits 3 run homer in the 7th off Richard Bleier, driving his ERA from 1.05 to 2.15. DVs rally in the 9th on a Adam Jones home run, but Knebel holds on for the 6-5 Driller win
Game 2 – DVs get the home run bats going as Stanton hits his 60th and Moustakas hits 2 in an 11-7 DV win
Game 3 – DVs win 5-3 on a Devers walk off in the bottom of the 10th
Game 4 – DVs use their bats as mitts and commit 4 errors in handing the Drillers a 7-1 win
Game 5 – Stanton hits his 61st in the 4th inning, and with first base open later in the game, HAL IBB’s him, setting up a Moustakas 3 run bomb as the DVs win 8-2.

Buckeyes 5, DVs 0

Netplay. Details to come (from the Buckeyes, probably - however, the DVs did make a statement - something about Buckeye Beads being a poor replacement for Anal Beads.)

May 1 - Buckeyes 7 DVs 5 - Buckeyes get 5 in 1st and 2 more in 3rd all off former Buckeyes Patrick Corbin. Altherr homers and Flores drives home 3.
May 2 - Buckeyes 6 DVs 5 - David Hernandez throws 2 1/3 scoreless relief. Kiemaeir and Galvis both homer.
July 26 - Buckeyes 9 DVs 8 (10 Innings) - Justin Turner with a 2 out ninth inning homer to send it to extras. Santana, Margot and Hernandez all homer as well.
July 27 - Buckeyes 6 DVs 5 - Third straight one run game. Vincent and Hernandez combine for 4 1/3 scoreless relief. Cruz, Joyce, and Bour all homer.
July 28 - Buckeyes 4 DVs 0 - Santana and Otero combine for 4 hit shutout. Turner's 3 run homer the big blow.

Rhinos 6, DVs 4

For all the great statisticians out there – here is a quiz:
Over a 10 game series, one team hit .300, outhomered their opponent by 8 and had an ERA of 3.29; while the other team hit .224 with a team ERA of 6.65- what would you guess the series results were ???
Well the DVs were the second team and ended up actually winning 4 of the 10, with the Rhinos having only 6 wins to show for their overall domination and beatdown of the hapless DVs. The capstone was game 9, when the Rhinos hit 8 homers while winning 21-2 after scoring 8 in the second inning off alleged DV ace Stephen Strasburg.

Tweeners 1, DVs 1

DVs split the final 2 @ Tweeners.  Tweeners take the season series 6-4. How embarrassing.

8/20 - Tweeners 2, DVs 1.  Chase Anderson wins the pitchers' duel vs. Teheran.  Minor gets a 5-out save,  Mancini and Schoop drove in the runs.  HR for A. Jones.

8/21 - DVs 11, Tweeners 3.  It really wasn't that close.  DVs 15 hits included a double, 2 triples, and 5 homers.  W - Strasburg, L - Ray.

DVs 3, Nads 2

DVs go 3-2 in hosting the Nads.
G 1 DVs 11-5
G2 DVs 8-5
G3 Nads 4-3 (only really interesting game- DVs strand bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th as Jose Martinez rolls an X chance for Barnhart, which turns into a game ending popout)
G4 DVs 10-1
G5 Nads 5-1 (Chacin tossed a gem)

Tweeners 2, DVs 1

Tweeners take 2 of 3 – first one was close as Chase Anderson went into the ninth and the Tweeners win 6-5. Game 2 had the Tweeners ahead all the way in  5-2 win behind Blake Snell. The finale had a Stanton grand slam in the 4th to pretty much put the game away in a 9-1 snoozer.

DVs 3, Goofs 2

DVs take 3 of 5 at Goofs

4/14 Goofs 7 DVs 3
4/15 DVs 7 Goofs 5
4/16 DVs 5 Goofs 2

6/18 Goofs 3 DVs 2
6/19 DVs 2 Goofs 1

DVs 5, Goofs 0

Not a pretty series as the DVs sweep all 5 from the Goofs.
A few high(low) lights:
  • DVs outscore the Goofs 34-18, while hitting .306 and clubbing 10 home runs (however only 2 from Giancarlo Stanton, who now has 37 homers through 74 games)
  • DVs record a 3.60 ERA, well below their season average of 4.65
  • Goofs suffer through a 6.53 ERA, which was only held down by Lucas Sims (?), 15 IP of 3.00 ERA. Jordan Zimmerman logs an eye watering  162.00 ERA before he is unceremoniously pulled 1/3 of an inning into his start.
  • Whit Merrifield was the only Goof with 6 or more hits – and 3 of his 6 were home runs. Otherwise the Goofs hit .238, which was compounded by the 30 men left on base over the 5 games

Sidewinders 3, DVs 0

Sidewinders swept the homestanding DVs the final 3 games as each team showed their true colors- Snakes great bullpen, true bashers and the DVs shaky starters and limited bullpen options. Final scores were 4-2, 12-6 and 10-4.

DVs 3, Nads 2

DVS 3-2 at NADS

6/13-it was the DiamondVision 4, the Nads 2 Stephen Strasburg(2-1) pitched a
solid game.  He went 7 innings and gave up 3 hits and 4 walks.
DVs finished with 10 hits while the NADS ended up with 4.

Game 2- Tulsa DiamondVision beat the Nads by the count of 6 to 4. The DVs
started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they scored 5 runs on 3 hits.  That early run support was enough
for Kyle Hendricks(2-1) and Tulsa.

Game 3 -DVs won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  Brian McCann led off and started the attack as he
doubled.  Ozzie Albies stepped into the batter's box and he tripled plating a
run.  Moreland then lined a single scoring the final run of the inning.
Tulsa had 11 hits for the night while Chicago had 8.

Game 4- Second baseman Brian Dozier rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI
as the Nads beat the DiamondVision in 12 innings 6 to 5.

Game 5 -Jhoulys Chacin had an impressive outing as the Nads bested the
DiamondVision 1 to 0 at The Ball Sack. Tulsa surrendered what proved to be
the only run of the contest when Chicago scored in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Chicago had 7 hits overall, while Tulsa had 2.

DVs 5, Wahoos 2

Via NetPlay. The DVs stay red hot. Details coming.

DVs 2, Warpigs 1

Via NetPlay at The DV MaxiPad

Game 1 - DVs win 10-9 in 12 innings. The DVs hit 6 FHRs, two by Granderson, who rolled in the 3-column every at bat of every game (ISYN). All six DV FHRs were 1-13 chances. He rolled single digit numbers on all six rolls. #NotBitter.

Game 2 - DVs win 5-1 in 8 1/2 innings. The DVs hit 3 more Fhomers. A bit of a downward trend for the home team, but it made little difference. How do you get 2-hit and STILL have 7 caught stealings in the game?!? All were 1-18 or better. #NotDespondent

Game 3 - Warpigs win 3-1. Stanton Fhomered in the 1st, then the whole DV team retired to the beach on the Tulsa coast, allowing the game to be finished by vendors and ushers, who still almost pulled off the sweep. The Pigs tied it in the 7th and scored 2 more in the 9th off of Viagra Fan of the Game Dick Short, who just didn't have enough to pull it off. The Pigs hit into 11 DPs in this game alone - a new record for a 9-inning game. #NotDrunk #Yet

DVs 2, Sidewinders 2

Via NetPlay.

DVs continue to play well above their station in life by splitting 2 at home and 2 at the Snakepit. 3 of the 4 games were extra inning affairs, with the DiamondVision winning 2 of them against the vaunted Sidewinder bullpen.

DVs 3, Sidewinders 0

DVs sweep 3 game series from the Snakes at his park.
Game 1- Teheran lowers his ERA all the way down to 7.32 by taking a shutout into the 9th in a game the DVs win 10-2.
Game 2 – DVs win 7-5 as Snakes threaten in the late innings but somehow the shaky DV bullpen lucks through with a win
Game 3 – DVs prevail 2-1 in 11 innings after the Sidewinders tie it in the 9th, but Mitch Moreland (hitting all of .174) homers in the 11th and the DVs hold on.
DV management is considering shuttering the season from here since this will basically be the team’s highlight reel.

Martin Prado Traded to Fungoes

The DVs traded Martin Prado and pick 137 to the Fungoes for pick 125.

Sunday, March 04, 2018

Buchter to the Pigs

The DVs traded left-handed reliever Ryan Buchter to the Warpigs for pick 61.

Saturday, March 03, 2018

Adam Jones to the DVs

The Inmates parted with their long-time center fielder Adam Jones today, sending him to the DVs. The DVs also receive picks 116 and 137. The Inmates get the 2019 3rd round pick of the DVs.

The plan is for Jones, 32, to man CF for the DVs until Victor Robles is ready to take over.
