Games

Warpigs 3, Drillers 2

Both teams had trouble scoring. Both teams lowered their winning percentage.

4/28 - Pigs win 3-2 - The Pigs rallied in the bottom of the 9th against Joe Nathan, scoring 2 runs for the win. With one run already in to tie the game, Curtis Granderson just missed a walk off grand slam. The ball didn't leave the yard, but with the drawn in outfield, it was good enough for a game winning single.

4/29 - Drillers win 7-5 - The Drillers pounded 5 home runs, 4 of them off of Cliff Lee, including back-to-back-to-back jacks by Ty Wiggington, Carlos Lee, and Vladimir Guerrero. A 9th inning rally brought the Pigs close, but a tired Joe Nathan got out of the jam.

6/10 - Drillers win 3-1 - The Drillers won despite getting only 3 hits. The big hit was a 2-out, bases loaded double in the first inning by Carlos Lee (on a friggin double 1-4, flyout!) James Shields threw 6 innings of shutout ball for the win. Chipper Jones broke up the shutout with a home run off of Scott Linebrink in the 8th.

6/11 - Pigs win 7-0 - In the 5th inning of a scoreless game, the Driller Dude intentionally walked Chris Dickerson with 2 outs to get to Albert Pujols. Albert then hit a 748 ft home run to dead center and ran the bases wagging his finger at the Driller dugout. Chipper Jones then added a homer of his own on the next pitch. Justin Duchscherer and two relievers combined on the 3-hit shutout.

6/12 - Pigs win 4-0 - Jesse Litsch and two relievers combined for a 2-hit shutout, running the Driller scoreless streak to 20 innings. The Pigs stole 4 bases for the second game in a row. The Drillers had only 8 hits in the 3-game homestand as neither team could do much against the other team's pitchers.

DVs 3, Wahoos 1

From the DVs...
DVs take 3 of 4 from the hard luck Wahoos- first 3 were extra inning affairs - DVs won 2 of the 3. Last game was a comfortable DV win behind Derek Lowe.
'Hoos may be the best sub-.500 team in NASOMA history (right behind a few DV vintage squads!).

From the Chief...
I don't understand this. My team is BETTER than his team. We score more runs. We hit more homers. I make ALL the right managerial moves. I just don't get it.

(editor's note: I didn't actually have a quote from the Chief, so I borrowed one from the archives of The HEAD INMATE.)

Rhinos 5, Killer Bees 0

Buckeyes 5, Killer Bees 0

All of these games were played at The Hive as a prelude to the Nashville Weekend. The Bees refuse to concede the first pick in the draft without a fight.

in 168 innings this year, cliff lee has allowed 28 home runs. he allowed 12 in 223 innings on the card. in fact, there are no BP homers on his card.
