In an early effort to defend their 2017 championship, the Buckeyes picked up two quality starting pitchers from the FFTs for 2018. The FFTs parted with Gio Gonzalez and Mike Leake, receiving from the Buckeyes Trevor Bauer, Kenta Maeda, and the Buckeye 3rd round pick in 2018.
