The College World Series ended tonight with a huge upset. The Fresno State Bulldogs beat the Georgia Bulldogs in a real dog fight (ugh). The commentators said Fresno State was the lowest seeded team to ever win ANY college championship, although it seems to me the 8th seeded Villanova basketball team of 1985 would be hard to top.
Still, when a long shot like that comes in, it must give hope to the NASOMA long shots like the Bees and Wahoos and Mavs and Tweeners and Inmates and Rhinos and Nads... you know, teams that have never won the league.
In fact... nah... nevermind. I was going to add the DVs to that list of hopefuls, but let's not get crazy.

I think you are correct, the DVs would be considered much more of a favorite, as opposed to a longshot. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I think the Fresno being the lowest seed is accurate. There are 16 regionals of 4 teams. They were a 4th seed in their 4-team regional. That'd make them the equivalent to a 13-16 seed in the basketball tournament.
