Tweeners 4, Buckeyes 1

Tweeners take 4 of 5 at home vs. Buckeyes.
6/17 – Buckeyes 5, Tweeners 4.  Ryan Howard hit a 3-run 1st inning homer off MadBum.  Tweeners score 2 in the bottom half, then 2 more in the 5th to take the lead, but Buckeyes plate 2 in the 7th with Somebody Alcantara driving in what proved to be the game winner.  The win goes to Morrow in relief of Bauer, S – Walker.
6/18 – Tweeners 6, Buckeyes 0.  Felix and Smyly combine for the shutout, Chris Carter homers, L – Happ.
8/24 – Tweeners 8, Buckeyes 0.  A 2-hitter for MadBum/Torres.  Gregor Blanco 3-4 with a HR and 2 RBI.  L – Kendrick.
8/25 – Tweeners 4, Buckeyes 3 (10 inn.).  Sonny Gray mowed down 10 GLENN batters and Nolan Arenado had 3 base hits as
the NORM TWEENERS topped the woeful GLENN Buckeyes in 10 innings by a score
of 4 to 3 at The Hoover Dome.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  NORM was victorious in the 10th inning.
Michael Saunders doubled.  Arenado was next and he delivered a base-hit
giving NORM the victory and sending the 41,389 home-town fans home happy.
NORM ended up with 12 hits for the game while GLENN had 3. 
 
The win was credited to Drew Smyly(3-2) who went 3 innings allowing no runs.
Jimmy Nelson(0-1) was given the loss in relief.  With this win, NORM has a
29-21 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  Still in a bad slump, with this
loss, GLENN is 1-9 lately and 11-38, worst in the division on the year.
 
8/26 – Tweeners 2, Buckeyes 1.  First baseman Stephen Vogt had 2 base hits as the NORM TWEENERS defeated the
awful GLENN Buckeyes by a score of 2 to 1 at The Hoover Dome.
 
Felix Hernandez(6-1) pitched a fine game.  He went 6 innings and surrended up
3 hits and 1 walk.  NORM took care of GLENN with no trouble in the 9th.
 
Hernandez was helped out by Zach Duke who recorded his 2nd save.  Kevin
Gausman(1-3) absorbed the loss.  He surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 5 and
2/3 innings.  
 
Wth the win NORM now has a record of 30-21.  Not able to get much going in
recent weeks, GLENN is 1-9 of late and now has an overall record of 11-39,
worst in the division.
