5/13/2018 Rhinos 4 – Bees 3
Roark
gets a complete 10 inning game while whiffed 11 batters at the Rhino Reserve
where the Rhinos beat the Bees in 10 innings by the score of 3 to 2. The game
was deadlocked at 2 after nine innings. The Rhinos won the game in the bottom
of 10th inning, when with two outs Bellinger clubbed a solo home run. Dee
Gordon goes 3 for 4 with a walk and was Bees hitting star.
5/14/2018 Rhinos 8 – Bees 5
Bellinger
again was a horn in the side of the Bees, smacking 2
homeruns enroute to the 8 to 5 win. Along with Bellinger, the Rhino offensive
barrage also included a 2 homerun day by Votto, with Marisnick chipping in one
for good measure. The Bees only managed 5 hits one of which was a Zimmerman
2-run shot off of the starter L. Castillo. Garcia and Schwarber avoided wearing
the Golden Sombrero contributing 6 of the 9 K’s by the Rhino pitching staff.
7/29/2018 Rhinos 1 – Bees 6
Verlander
throws a complete game, shutting down the Rhinos allowing just 3 hits and Suzuki
went deep and had 2 RBI enroute to the 6 to 1 win. The Rhinos avoided the
shutout by a herculean effort by Panik who was able to muscle one out.
7/30/2018 Rhinos 3 – Bees 2
The
Rhinos edged the Bees 3 to 2 in a close game. Gray exits after pitching 4
innings giving up 3 runs and leaving the bases loaded with no outs. Rodney enters
the game in an unenviable situation to face Panik, who on the first pitch
promptly smacks a Rodney fastball directly at SS Turner who is in the shift
directly behind second base, he snags the line-drive steps on second and throws
a bullet to first for the triple-play!!! Rodney keeps the Bees in the game
shutting down the Rhinos pitching 4 innings of 2 hit ball in relief. Benintendi
puts the Bees within a run smacking a 2 run homerun in the 6th, but
unfortunately, the Bees offense was unable to capitalize due to spectacular
defensive plays by Marisnick in the 7th and Hernandez in the 8th
robbing the Bees of extra base hits.
7/31/2018 Rhinos 2 – Bees 3
The
Bees topped the Rhinos 3 to 2. Nelson pitched well enough to earn the win going
5 innings despite surrending 5 hits and 5 walks. Castillo allowed 4 hits and 4
walks in 9 innings. The Rhinos threatened with an Arcia homerun in the bottom
of the 9th but their rally came up short.
