The "Real" Official 2013 NASOMA Mock Draft

No more pretending. No more lies to see if I can get somebody to draft a player earlier than they should. No more trying to mislead. Here's the final, official, mock draft for the 2013 NASOMA...

1. Warpigs - Fernando Rodney. I would have been happy with Medlen, but I didn't want both and Rodney has the killer card. For what it's worth, Moss was going here before the Prince deal.

2. Sidewinders - Kris Medlen. The Snakes could still go with Andrelton Simmons, but Medlen is the smart pick.

3. Mavs - Jarrod Parker. The Mavs probably had a name in mind when he traded up for this pick, but I don't know what that name is. Medlen, maybe? Parker should be the guy here, unless you don't need pitching.

4. Drillers - Brandon Moss. Before the Fielder deal, there was a good chance Medlen fell to this spot. Oops. The Drillers are already going to pound lefties. Now they build up the power vs rhp too.

5. FFTs - Aaron Hill. Parker was on the wish list too, but the FFTs will be perfectly happy with Hill.

6. Inmates - Matt Harvey. Poor Matt. He was so hoping he'd go to the Zaps or Tweeners or ANYBODY but the fucking Inmates. TJ surgery will be later this summer.

7. Warpigs - Justin Ruggiano. Ruggiano or Grandal? I was hoping one would be gone before this pick so I wouldn't have to decide. Ruggiano is a reach at pick 7 (since he's 30 years old), but my next pick is 162. He would be gone by then, I think.

8. Zaps - Adam Eaton. Wanted Harvey. Gone. Wanted Medlen. Long gone. Wanted Parker. Shoulda traded up, I guess. This would be the perfect place to jump into that uncarded world, but the Zaps can't take an uncarded player this year.

9. Nads - Will Middlebrooks. Probably the steal of this draft (maybe even more than Medlen).

10. Tweeners - Yasmani Grandal. He's balanced. Hits for power. Great onbase. And gains in the clutch. Plus he's young and a switch-hitting catcher. He's also suspended for the first 50 games of the season.

11. Fungoes - Andrelton Simmons. If the Fungoes had picked first, this is who they would have taken. What luck! He's still there!

12. Drillers - Ryan Cook. Just don't screw up and say Aaron Cook. He sucks.

13. Tweeners - Adam LaRoche. Full-time gold glove winner. Decent numbers. Not terribly old. A nice pick here.

14. Wahoos - Oscar Taveras (uncarded). The Cardinal phenom will hit the big time just about the time the Wahoos return to the post season.

15. Wahoos - A.J. Griffin. Not a ton of innings for the SP-only right-hander, but he's another stud out of the A's camp.

16. DVs - Matt Carpenter. DVs need a left-handed stick, and he can back up in a lot of places. Starting 2b for the Cards, he should quickly replace that overrated Kinsler in the DV lineup.
