Via Netplay:
Bees 6 – Inmates 5 (Baptist
Bowl): A close game that shouldn’t have been this close, as the Bees
missed three 1-14 BP homer rolls. Still, the Insect Horde collected three
taters off of J. Gray in his first start of the year as Turner, Zimmerman and
Sano all went yard. The most bizarre occurrence of the game was in the bottom
of the 9th with two outs, when HAL froze things up and prevented the
game from continuing. A restart, however, allowed Albers to grab the save.
Inmates 2 – Bees 0 (Baptist
Bowl): A total offensive desert as Clevinger and the Inmate bullpen
shut out the visitors from the Hive. A close game with no excitement (except
the Inmates won!).
Inmates 4 – Bees 3 (The
Hive): A three-run homer by Inciarte off of Verlander’s card held up as
the winning hit as the Beakless Chicken Gang’s bullpen once again held the Bees
at bay after they’d had their way with starter Davies. Chad Green struck out
the side in the 9th for the save.
Inmates 4 – Bees 0 (The
Hive): See above (“A total offensive desert as Clevinger and the Inmate
bullpen shut out the visitors from the Hive “). Lots of base-running in this
one as the Inmates stole four bases and the Bees three. A Santana + hit through
the pulled-in infield in the 4th inning pretty much iced the game.
Inmates 6 – Bees 4 (The
Hive): The Bees scored all of their runs in the 3rd off of
J. Gray (including a three-run tater by Zimmerman), then put the bats away. The
Inmates clawed back to take the lead in the 6th; Green once again
struck out the side in the 9th for the save.
