Fungoes at Nads


Fungoes 3, Nads 2

Fungoes played five at NadVille today winning games 1-3 and losing games 4 and 5. Here are the results:

Game one:

Fungoes 7
Nads 4

The FUNGOES bested the NADS by a 7 to 4 score at Kauffman
Stadium.
Fungoes came up with 3 runs in the 7th inning when they came up with 3 base
hits. It was enough scoring to earn the victory. For the game the Fungi out-hit
the Nads 13 to 8.
Brett Myers went 6 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Jonathan Papelbon
recorded his 3rd save. Takashi Saito absorbed the loss in relief. He
gave up 2 runs and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

Game two:

Fungoes 2
Nads 1

In a game for the baseball purist, David Price and C.J. Wilson
squared off in a tense pitching duel, the FUNGOES finally emerged
victorious over the NADS, 2 to 1.
The Fungoes had 1 run cross the plate in the top of the 6th inning. Nad bats proved to
be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Ernesto Frieri earned his 23rd save. The Fungi continued their winnings ways
improving their record to 48-46. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. The Nads
have a record of 0-2, worst in the division after the loss.

Game three:

Fungoes 7
Nads 6

Ryan Zimmerman had 4 hits as the smoking-hot FUNGOES outscored the
NADS in 19 innings 7 to 6.
Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Fungoes won it in the
19th inning. Denard Span led off and got things going when he lashed a
single. Brett Gardner was next and he delivered a one-base hit. Orlando
Hudson then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Nelson Cruz was up next and he
doubled. Zimmerman was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Lance
Berkman contributed to the rally and was walked intentionally. DEREK
finished with 17 hits in the victory.
The winning pitcher was Hisanori Takahashi(2-1) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 1/3
innings. Takahashi got help from Ernesto Frieri who earned his 24th save.
Zach Braddock(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
FungoesMasters won for the 7th straight time.

Game four:

Fungoes 3
Nads 4

GONADS broke the deadlock in their last at bat, pulling out a 4 to 3 win
over the FUNGOES and sending their hometown fans home smiling.
The game was won by the NADS with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Josh
Willingham laced a base-hit. Melvin Mora followed and he drew a walk. After
an out was recorded, A.J. Pierzynski came to the plate and stroked a single
giving DAVE the win as 998 happy fans joyfully celebrated. DAVE managed 8
hits in their victory.
Takashi Saito(1-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Francisco Rodriguez(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning allowing 2 hits and 1 walk. Fungo manager Al Kaline was not happy after the game!
"This is such bull-shit" Kaline said in the clubhouse afterwards "we finally put together a winning streak
and then, shit-fuck!"

Game five:

Fungoes 1
Nads 2

In a game for the baseball purist, C.J. Wilson and David Price
squared off in a tense pitching duel, the NADS finally emerged victorious
over the FUNGOES, 2 to 1.
The Nads started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first plating an isolated run on 2 base hits. The Fungoes had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
Grant Balfour preserved the game for Wilson, recording his 1st save. 'We
didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Kaline said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?' Answering his own question,
Kaline said "Shit-Fuck!"
