Dice and cards. All games played at The Reservation.
Game 1 - Wahoos win 5-3. Ian Desmond brought the Wahoos back from the dead with a 9th inning, walk off grand slam. The Pigs squandered many opportunities to put the game away, mainly by grounding into 4 double plays.
Game 2 - Wahoos win 7-1. Jake Arrieta was too tough. So was Justin Turner, who homered twice (on rolls of 4-2 and 1-2, the bastard). The Pigs stranded 12 runners.
Game 3 - Warpigs win 5-4 in 10 innings. For the first 7 innings, it continued to be a Wahoo sweep. The Pigs trailed 2-0 when Jayson Werth tied it with an 8th inning homer. Robinson Cano homered to lead off the 10th, and Justin Morneau tacked on a 2-run single. The Morneau hit turned out to be big when the Hoos scored 2 in the bottom of the inning, thanks in part to shoddy defense. But Tom Wilhelmsen struck out Chris Ianetta to end the threat and get the Pigs into the win column.
Game 4 - Warpigs win 16-2. The Pig bats finally woke up, getting 22 hits, including 5 home runs. Brock Holt, Victor Martinez, and A.J. Pollock each had 4 hits. Robby Cano belted 2 homers, and rookie Cory Spangenberg pinch hit a 3-run homer for his first ever hit. Garrett Richards went 6 for the win. Wilhelmsen went the final 3 innings for his 2nd consecutive save.
