Game 1 - Drillers win 5-1 in 10 innings. Jose Fernandez had a 1-0 lead in the 9th when leftfielder Yoenis Cespedes (2e6) let a flyball drop for a single AND let it roll past him for a 2-base error, sending the tying run to 3rd. Brandon Belt immediately singled the runner home to tie the game. The Drillers, so glad Fernandez was gone, pounded reliever Tommy Milone (0-3) in the 10th. Ivan Nova threw three innings of shutout relief to get the win.
Game 2 - Warpigs win 3-2 in 11 innings. Alejandro De Aza hit a double off of Joe Nathan, driving in the winning run in the 11th. Michael Wacha (1-0), the 5th reliever of the game for the Pigs, got the win. Nova took the loss.
Game 3 - Warpigs win 2-0. Jose Fernandez (6-1) struck out 11 and allowed only 2 hits in 7 innings. Austin Jackson and De Aza had back-to-back 2-out RBI singles in the 7th for the only runs of the game. Casey Fien got the last 4 outs for his 4th save.
Game 4 - Drillers win 5-3. The Driller bats finally awoke for 10 hits. Evan Longoria went 3-3 with a walk and needed only a homer for the cycle. Cespedes helped make it close with a 2-run homer in the 7th, but the Driller bullpen held on. Patrick Corbin got the win; Joe Nathan the save. Adam Wainwright (2-2) took the loss.
Game 5 - Warpigs win 3-0. Wily Peralta (2-5) and the entire bullpen shut out the Drillers for the second time. Austin Jackson hit 2 doubles and scored 2 runs. Wacha recorded his 2nd save.
