Tweeners 8, FFTs 2

Start with a 2 game set at FFTs:
4/8 – Tweeners 7, FFTs 1.  Top of the 2nd, none on and 2 out, Napoli boots a grounder, and Tweeners go on to score 5 in the inning.  Iwakuma the win, Perez takes the loss.
4/9 – Tweeners 4, FFTs 1.  Top of the 6th, tie game, 2 outs, Lind on first, Howard doubles into the corner.  We wave Lind home 1-12, Hal opts to throw out the trailing Howard and allows what will be the winning run to score.  Felix outpitches Hiroki.  Ichiro pinch runs in the 8th, stays in to play 3B in the 9th.
then 3 at The Hooverdome:
5/20 – Tweeners 3, FFTs 0.  FFTs outhit us 7-5, but MadBum and friends combine for the shutout.  An 8th inning 2-run homer by the Panda gave us some breathing room.  Quality start/loss for Mike Leake.
5/21 – Tweeners 3, FFTs 1.  With one out in the 8th, Pence is on 2nd, and Napoli is the tying run at the plate.  CF(X), Venable makes the catch, Pence attempts to advance on the F2 and is called out at 3rd.  Iwakuma evens his record at 4-4, Scheppers records his 2nd save.  Hal says Hellickson's record is now 0-10, and he hasn't even heard about those Snakes' games.
5/22 – Tweeners 10, FFTs 2.  FFTs take an early 2-0 lead, Tweeners get 3 in the 4th, then we bust it open in the 5th, starting with a BP HR for Venable (requires the 1 in the Hooverdome), and capped by a Panda grand slam (he also rolled a 1, although it was a 1-7 chance).  Gio over Hiroki.
Tweeners head back on the road:
7/1 – FFTs 4, Tweeners 2.  FFTs finally break through, thanks to a Fielder 3-run homer in the first.  Tweeners only managed 3 hits, but threatened a couple of times, and had the tying run at the plate in the 9th, but Mariano nailed it down.  Hiroki over Hisashi.
7/2 – Tweeners 6, FFTs 0.  MadBum and friends again with the combined shutout, Panda 3 for 4 with a HR, Byrd drives in 3.  Samardzija didn't have his best stuff.
7/3 – Tweeners 2, FFTs 1.  Gio Gonzalez(3-1) and Mike Leake(0-9) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with Gonzalez and the NORM TWEENERS coming out on top of the pitiful TERRY FFT'S 2 to 1.

TERRY was unable to climb back into it after NORM went ahead for good in the
2nd inning plating one baserunner.  Homers by Adam Lind and Nelson Cruz led to the Tweeners victory.  Luis Avilan was perfect in relief and got
the save, his 1st.

With the win NORM now has a record of 19-14.  TERRY continued their losing ways and their record is now 11-47, worst in the division.  They are 1-9 in their last ten games.

then back home:

8/13 – FFTs 7, Tweeners 6.  Tweeners take a 5-2 lead into the 9th, but Schep gets torched for 4 runs.  Tweeners then get 1 in the bottom half to force overtime.  TERRY ended up winning
it in the 13th inning.  After two were out Ichiro Suzuki tripled.  Welington
Castillo next to the plate and he drew a walk.  Martin Prado then lined a
base-hit.  NORM had 18 hits in the game while TERRY had 14, but TERRY had the
more timely hits.

Vin Mazzaro(2-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Drew
Smyly(1-1) was the loser in relief.  For TERRY the victory was a welcome one,
indeed.  They had been struggling in their last ten games with a
disappointing 2-8 record.  With the loss NORM now has a record of 19-15.

8/14 – Tweeners 7, FFTs 5.  In a tight game it was the NORM TWEENERS 7, the lifeless TERRY FFT'S 5 at The Hooverdome.

NORM scored 4 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 5 hits.  They would
prove to be the difference in the contest.  NORM banged out 13 hits on the
afternoon.

Sergio Romo(1-0) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Romo
was helped out by Sonny Gray who recorded his 7th save.  Mike Leake(0-10) was
the losing pitcher.  He pitched 6 innings giving up 9 hits and 1 walk.
