The 6th seeded Rhinos upended the #3 seed Drillers in 7 games. Here are the results...
Game 1: Drillers win 8-4. Tim Lincecum beat Ben Sheets. Vladimir Guerrero homered and drove in 3
Game 2: Rhinos win 4-3. Andre Ethier singled off of Manny Delcarmen to drive in the game deciding run in the top of the 9th. Joey Devine got the win; Octavio Dotel took the loss. Both Troy Tulowitzki and B.J. Upton homered for the Rhinos.
Game 3: Rhinos win 5-2. The Rhinos scored 3 first inning runs off of Jamey Shields and then held on. Cory Wade got the win in relief. C.C. Sabathia went 3 innings for the save. Geovanny Soto homered.
Game 4: Drillers win 4-3. This time it was the Drillers with the 3-run first inning. Kevin Slowey got the win with Joe Nathan earning the save. Oliver Perez took the loss. Carlos Lee homered for the Drillers.
Game 5: Rhinos win 6-5 in 14 innings. In the turning point of the series, the Drillers' Tim Lincecum entered the 9th inning with a 1-hit shutout and a 5-0 lead. The Rhinos then exploded for 5 ninth inning runs, the final four coming on a 2-out grand slam by Ryan Braun off of Nathan. the Rhinos won in the 14th with B.J. Upton getting the game-winning hit. C.C. Sabathia got the win while Dave Bush took the loss.
Game 6: Drillers win 7-4. The Drillers evened up the series in a hurry by pounding A.J. Burnett for 7 first inning runs. Dan Haren earned the win, and Joe Nathan got the save.
Game 7: Rhinos win 2-1. An exciting game 7 pitcher's duel between Jamey Shields and Matt Garza was decided in the 8th inning when Hanley Ramirez followed a walk to Alex Rodriguez with a 2-run homer off of Hong-Chih Kuo. Joey Devine and Cory Wade finished off the Drillers to send the Rhinos to the 2nd round.
