Inmates 4, Killer Bees 1
From The HEAD INMATE...
At the Baptist Bowl, the Inmpotentmates take 4 of 5 from the Killed Bees.
Game 1 had Ryan Howard hitting a grand slam for all the Inmate runs, while the Bees out-hit the Baptist Bowlers 8-4 as the Inmates won 4-1.
Game 2 had the Inmates holding on for a 6-5 win with Francisco getting a rare save.
Game 3 saw the Inmates enter the last of the 9th trailing 6-5, but 3 singles, a walk, and Jojima’s 2nd error of the game iced it for the Beakless Chicken Gang.
The Bees avoided a sweep by holding the Inmates to 4 hits while scoring a 5-2 victory in game 4.
Brett Myers tossed a complete game 3-hitter in the series finale as the Inmates won 7-1.
Inmates are now 52-81 and trying desperately to lose the first pick of the draft…
Warpigs 2, Wahoos 1
The Pigs and Hoos squared off for three face to face dice games at the BallPork.
Game 1 - Warpigs won 9-1 - The much maligned Ervin Santana (16-8) went the distance, scattering 4 hits. Albert Pujols hit his 40th homer of the year, and Miguel Olivo went 3-4 with 2 RBI.
Game 2 - Wahoos won 7-2 - The even more maligned Fausto Carmona threw a complete game 3-hitter for the Hoos. Aramis Ramirez homered off of starter and loser Justin Duchscherer (18-2).
Game 3 - Warpigs 4, Wahoos 3 (12 innings) - The game was 2-2 into the top of the 8th when Jimmy Rollins homered off of Joakim Soria. In the bottom of the inning, though, Chipper Jones matched him with a homer of his own off of Carlos Marmol. In the top of the 12th, DH-turned-LF Manny Ramirez threw out the go ahead run at the plate; then in the bottom of the 12th, Albert Pujols ended the marathon with a 2-out smash off of the Feed Store across the road from the BallPork. Heath Bell (5-0), who had rescued the Pigs in the top of the inning, got the win. Taylor Buchholz absorbed the loss for the Hoos.
