Game One : The Mavs hang on to win one of what must be many slugfests at the Wahoos 10-8. The Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game goes to Billy Butler who hit two triples and got to third on a three base error by Josh Reddick. It’s the most Butler has run since seventh grade PE. Country Breakfast indeed.
Game Two: The Wahoos bounce back for the split as the Mavs leave the bases loaded in the 9th and lose 4-3. Josh Reddick wins the Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game award going 2-3 with a homer and two RBI’s
Game Three: A Kyle Seager homer ended Bailey’s shutout. Nonetheless Homer Allowed Bailey wins the Pearl Beer Pitcher of the Game award. Mavs win going away 7-1 as Eovaldi lost the plate and walked in a run and the roof caved in when five runs scored in the sixth.
Game Four: The Mavs leave seven on base but the Wahoos hit into four DP’s. It is hard to say who feels more cheated as the Mavs win 7-6. Vogelsong gets the Elvira’s Escort Service Cheap Win of the Game as he picks up a victory despite allowing 6 earned runs.
Game Five: In a match up of slant rhymes Bailey took on Buehrle. Alas as so often happens in this park it was a slugfest. The Mavs got Morales with as the tying run with two out in the ninth. The Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game goes to Chris Davis who homered twice. The Betty’s Brothel Blow of the Game came from Brandon Moss who pinch hit a three run in the seventh to put the Mavs ahead. 10-8 Mavs.
Game Six: Just plain a blow out. 16-2 Mavs. Harper is the Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game going 4-6 with two home runs. It could have been worse. The Mavs left 10 on.
Game Seven: in a game that could only happen in this park, Gallardo gives up 7 in the first and four home runs total and hangs on for the win. 15-9. Nine home runs between the two teams. But Doumit is the Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game going 5-5 driving in five runs and finishing a triple short of the cycle.
Game Eight: The Wahoos pounded the Mavs bullpen and blew a close game open to win going away 9-4. Gose hits a homer and goes 3 for 6 to win the Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game in a close one over Doumit who went 4-4 and is now 9 for his last nine official plate appearances.
Game Nine: The Mavs lose a heartbreaker as Tom Wilhelmsen’s error results in a blown save. Wahoos win 4-2. Chris Carter wins the Betty’s Brothel Blow of the Game with a three run straight out homer on 3-6 as a pinch hitter in the ninth.
Game Ten: Samardjiza strikes out 14 but takes the loss as the Mavs bullpen finally comes through. Elvis is the Chico’s Bail Bonds Player of the Game going 3 for 4 and turning a key double play.
