HOFL Reaches Midway Point
At the halfway point of the season, the New York PreThirties have surged ahead to a commanding lead. NY had two 3-game sweeps in this set sandwiched around ANOTHER series loss to Boston. There's just something about a New York/Boston series.
The St. Louis LeftOuts are hanging onto 2nd place despite ending the first half with a 6-game losing streak.
Other highlights of this set of games:
Eddie Cicotte of St. Louis threw a 2-hit shutout over Philadelphia. The LeftOuts followed up that pitching gem by losing their next six games. Ernie Banks (BRK) and Willie McCovey (CHI) both had a 3-homer game, and both LOST those games.
