Nucleus Players

I read some post about some league that basically started over by cutting down to 5 players. That would really suck, but it would be interesting. So here's my question to you...

If you had to cut down to 5, which 5 would you keep?

Warpigs go first:
1. Pujols
2. Beckham
3. Granderson
4. Fowler
5. Lind

Wow, that is a sucky group. Maybe it WOULD be a good idea to start over. Hehehe

(Although I would probably leave the last two 'blank' if I could get some draft picks from someone - LOL!

  3. This exercise is a bit of an eye-opener. I'm fairly satisfied with the depth of my top 20, but I would be concerned about starting a franchise with only the top 5. I suppose they would have to be:
    Felix Hernandez
    Adam Wainwright
    Mark Reynolds
    Pablo Sandoval
    J.A. Happ

The vote was close for number 5. V-Mart and K-Rod are not pleased. And if Roberts had not dropped to a 3, he may have been the pick. Speaking of picks, our first pick in 2010 may immediately alter the list. And no, I do not plan to trade that pick to the DV's.

we did that once in SOMNADA, and it was not fun to cut, but was one fun draft.

I only got two for sure
    M. Cabrera and Ichiro

  5. When a team excells the way the Inmates do it's tough to single out five...but here goes:

    J. Santana
    R. Howard
    A. Jones
    C. Gonzales
    J. Vazquez

Any wonder why we're so successful?

    Pedroia
    Morneau
    Rollins
    Nolasco

The top 4 are pretty set (despite Rollins' bat). I'd probably have to think long and hard about cutting him and keeping either Baker or Hamels.

  7. Fungoes would be hard pressed to pick just 5! Or was it Fungoes would be hard pressed to find 5 worthy of keeping!!

    Anywho....here we go:
    1 Clayton Kershaw
    2 Rick Porcello
    3 Matt Wieters
    4 Grady Sizemore
    5 David Price

#5 was almost a tossup between David Price, Denard Span and Ryan Zimmerman

  8. Tweeners could have a a surefire #1 AND the 2010 and 2011 World Series ring if he'd listen to me about that ONE guy who would put him over the top.....

    Drillers:
    Lincecum
    Haren
    Longoria
    A.Cabrera
    B.Posey (un-carded!)

I'd use Jeter as trade bait for draft picks from the Buckeyes.
